The Alpine sunshine, spectacular scenery, flowers and wildlife with as many or as few activities as you wish. Here is a list of available activities that the Black Diamond Lodge chalet host can help organise for you during your stay.

- Mountain walking and hiking: On your doorstep is a huge variety of local walks for all levels and longer guided hikes with overnight stays
- Mountain Biking: Mountain biking with a huge choice of trails for all abilities
- Road cycling: Offering some of the most famous cols and routes (many as seen on the Tour de France)
- Day trips: Visit markets, local shopping centres and thermal spas
- Bird & wildlife watching: Spectacular flora and fauna

Alpine walks
For members of your group that enjoy a more leisurely pace, we can organise mountain walks on many of the woodland paths that traverse the mountain of Sainte-Foy. For more gentle walking, guests can wear trainers or simple hiking boots and start your journey from your chalet door you can stroll.
Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise, famous for its dramatic mountainside views and places of historical interest, can be explored even further when walking on the mountain paths. For those that would like a slightly easier walking adventure, routes are available to take you through the beautiful ancient Monal village.
Places to visit include the neighbouring picturesque village of Le Planay (2 miles), the 100m waterfall and the beautiful village of L’Eschaillon (6 miles) or the ancient snow-locked hamlet of Le Monal (10 miles) which is a listed site due to its architectural and historical significance and includes the 18th century St Clair Chapelle.
Mountain guided walking
We can organise mountain guides for you to enjoy the most dramatic of the beautiful surroundings. Alpine walking is a great fitness activity but be sure to pack proper attire for weather changes and footwear suitable for steeper mountain paths.

Mountain viking
Rent mountain bikes from local sports shops and enjoy the workout of uphill climbs and the thrill of downhill cruising. We can organise bikes for you or point you in the right direction. Just let us know your requirements when you book.
Road cycling
Sainte-Foy-Tarentaise has been on the Tour de France route and is a perfect spot to stay should you wish to pursue the road cycling adventures in the area. Local cols include the col d’Iseran and the Sainte-Bernard Pass (Col Du Grand St. Bernard).
White water rafting and water sports on the Isere river
During your stay, plan to take part in the white water sports available on the Isere River. A number of local companies provide a host of white water sports including: white water rafting, hydrospeeding, kayaking and canoeing. We can help you arrange your day out when you book.
Spa facilities
Our spa facilities include a 10 meter heated swimming pool, sauna and indoor and outdoor hot tubs. Alternatively a range of massage treatments and are also available and can be booked prior to or throughout your stay.
Wine tasting
A number of wine and cheese tasting opportunities can be included in your event itinerary. Just 10 minutes from the chalet is the local ‘Cave’ at Le Monal Hotel and their Sommelier will introduce you to some of the finer wines from around the region.
Local shopping
Let us organise a shopping trip to Bourg-Sainte-Maurice for the weekly market, or to Val d’Isere for some luxury goods and coffee. A perfect day out for those that need a day’s rest from the piste.
